Rob Webster

Rob Webster is an Associate Professor at UCL Institute of Education, and a Lecturer at the University of Reading. Between 2011 and 2017, he led a landmark research study of the everyday educational experiences of pupils with SEN. Rob is considered a leading expert on teaching assistants. He was a researcher on the world's largest study of TA deployment and impact, following which, he developed the award-winning Maximising the Impact of Teaching Assistants (MITA) programme. Rob has developed national guidance for the Education Endowment Foundation and Whole School SEND on the deployment of teaching assistants. Rob has an advisory role on several national SEN projects, and he is also part of the lead group of the SEN Policy Research Forum. He also presents UCL’s Research for the Real World podcast.
