How can creative mediums such as music, art and poetry be used to engage with Black British History? How can such practices be embedded within the classroom? What impact does this have on young people? In this presentation, we will be exploring the ways in which arts based practices can be powerful tools to engage with Black British History. Walking through some of the ways in which teachers and parents can get involved, we will illustrate how such practices can generate creative thinking and empower young people with a sense of identity and belonging.
