Embedding Black British History in the Primary Curriculum

Three years ago, a Year 6 pupil asked the question: "Why is it that we learn about Black American History but not Black British History?" Her question proved the catalyst for change. This presentation describes how Charles Dickens Primary School embedded Black British History into the curriculum, from the Romans to Windrush, via Black Tudors, 18th-century anti-slavery campaigners, 19th-century radicals and the Suffragette movement.
